ABOUT THIS COLLEGE:
Amrutha Ayaurvedic Medical College, Chitradurga, sponsored by Sri Devaraj Urs Vidhya Samsthe, Chitardurga, was started during 1996-97. The College has its own hospital; it is having both OPD and IPD sections. The institution shall not lag behind in providing the minimum basic study facilities such as teaching staff, labs, and herbarium. However all care shall be taken to strengthen the infrastructure each year to keep the reputation of the Institution.
The Institute of Ayurvedic Medical College, which is dedicated to the achievement of excellence in both Ayurvedic education and Research. The Aim of the Institution is to provide a complete instruction on all aspects of the imparting of the academic site of the course. We intend providing a good library facility for up-to-date knowledge of the Indian Medicine. Academically known dignitaries shall visit the college of science to counsel the college for its improvements. Experienced and effective teaching staff shall be specialty of the college.
COURSE OFFERED:
The College offers B.A.M.S. degree of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Approved by central council of Indian Medicine, Government of India.
ELIGIBILITY:
A candidate must have passed the 2nd year PUC (Pre University Examination) conducted by the PUC education board, Bangalore with English as one of the languages & Physics, Chemistry & biology as optional subjects with not less than 50% of marks in the aggregate of the relevant science subjects (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) of the 2nd year PUC examination only are eligible for admission to B.A.M.S. course.
The candidates who have passed the B.Sc. (CBZ) with additional Physics examination and secured not less than 50% of marks in the aggregate are eligible for admission. For SC/ST Karnataka category the minimum requirement in percentage of marks for admission to B.A.M.S. course in 40% marks.
The candidate should have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the year of admission and the candidates should be medically fit.
DURATION:
The Study of B.A.M.S. course extends for a period of 5 1/2 years from the date of commencement of the study for the subjects compromising the medical curriculum to the date of completion of the examination.
The 5 1/2 years course has been divided into following phases: I Professional B.A.M.S. course - 18 months, II Professional B.A.M.S. course - 18 months, III Professional B.A.M.S. course - 18 months, and 4. Internship compulsory - 12 months.
FACULTY:
The college has the fine team of young, qualified, experienced and dedicated staff members. The team of specialists in various subjects visits the institute regularly to deliver special lectures on the subjects of the curriculum and on other topics of medical sciences.
The principal and staff members pay individual attention to council the students in their overall career.
ACCOMMODATION:
We provide a well furnished hostel facility to the students.
OTHER FACILITIES:
The institution provides a bus for transportation of the students from the hostel to the college at various pick up points in the city. It has well equipped laboratory, library and herbal garden. The library of the institution is functioning in a spacious library hall. This is well equipped with 5000 books. The students are getting brilliant knowledge of those books.
The team members of the Association are serving on the rural clinics at various rural places in and around Chitradurga City with the aid of village people & charity organizations. The students of the institute can take the advantage of these services for their extensive clinical training with health campus especially with an exposure of rural problems, keeping in view of this service, the final year students of House Surgeons will be deputed to these rural clinics as part of the degree curriculum.
