Charaka says of all the treatments in Ayurveda Basti comprises the main component. By cleansing the colon and then applying herbal medicines there that nourish and heal the colon and improve its absorptive power we nourish the entire body. Charaka gives the analogy of nourishing a tree by its roots to get good flower, leaves and fruit.

INTRODUCTION:
Anantha Lakshmi Government Ayurvedic Medical College is located in Warangal, Andhra Pradesh. It is established in the year 1956 and recognized by Government. It is joined with NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada. They provide a degree course in Ayurvedic extending over a period of 5 1/2 years. The Degree is awarded after successful completion of the course. Candidates seeking admission to the 1st year BAMS course must have passed the PUC Examination conducted by the Osmania University/ Intermediate Examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad or an equivalent examination of any other recognized university or institution with Physical & Biological sciences.
General Information for the Student:
Knowledge of Sanskrit shall be preferential qualification
a) Candidates who have secured not less than 40% marks in the science subjects in the qualifying examination only are considered for selection. In the case of candidate belonging to Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes the minimum percentage of marks required is the pass percentage b) Candidates applying for admission to the BAMS Course must have passed the qualifying examination in one attempt c) There shall be a selection committee constituted by the Government for purposes of selection of candidates for admission to BAMS Degree course. Those who have passed the qualifying examination with Sanskrit will be given an additional of 2% of the total number of marks secured by them in the optional subjects in arriving at the total marks considered for purpose of selection through the Entrance Test"
Candidates shall have completed 16 years of age on the 31st October of the year in which the selection is made.
