The family of Thaikkattu Mooss, a legend in its own, is engaged in the practice of Ayurveda, the science of life, mastered by ancient Indian saints. Our tradition dates back to the days of Lord Parasurama, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, believed to have recovered Kerala, the land renowned for the growth of Ayurveda. Panchakarma Therapy
Ayurveda prescribes Panchakarma Therapy as the best remedy for almost all ailments as it purifies the body from toxic waste that have settled in the body due to wrong life styles prevailing in the modern world. Panchkarma comprises 5 distinct Therapeutic procedures.Each procedure has an importance in our body. That is why utmost care is exercised at Vaidyaratnam Nursing Home while performing Panchakarma on patients. Patients leave our Nursing Home after Panchakarma with an improved vigour and resume their normal activities with total confidence. The five different procedures are:
Vamanam
In this procedure patients are induced to vomit. This treatment is for purifying your chest and stomach. This treatment is a cure for chronic respiratory problems and allergic skin disorders. etc.
Virechanam
It is purgation process, which concentrates on purifying your entire body along with vascular system. This method also helps us to get rid of various skin related problem
Vasthi
a) Kashayavasthi
During this procedure patients are subjected to medicated enema using time tested Ayurvedic formulations. The aim of this process is to solve any rheumatic and neurological problems in the body. Obesity is another problem which vasthi has proved to be the remedy.
b) Thailavasthi
Medicated oil is used for enema, Very effective for back pain due to variety of reasons.
Nasyam
In this medicated oils are poured into nostrils. This is used in treating headaches including migraine, cervical spondylosis, facial palsy, periarthritis, sinusitis, frozen shoulder etc. The patients gets wonderful relief from all the above problems after practicing Nasyam by pouring medicated Ayurvedic oils or other prescribed medicines into the nasal cavity.
Rakthamoksham
It is the best remedy for all ailments caused by impure blood. During this procedure, thrust is given on treatments developed for purifying the blood in the body. Obviously, this process is the best cure for skin eruptions, psoriasis etc.
Kizhi (Bundle Massage)
In this treatment the whole body is made to perspire by the external application of medicated packs in the form of boluses tied in cloth bags. The packs are made up of Rice (Njavarakizhi) or herbal powder (Choorna Kizhi) or herbal leaves (Elakizhi) the treatment is useful in musculoskeletal disorders, degenerative conditions and neurological problems etc.
Pizhichil (Kayasekam)
Pizhichil is another traditional Ayurvedic treatment perfomed at Vaidyratnam Nursing Home effectively. During this treatment, the patient is laid in a tub specially made form the wood of trees known for its medicinal values. Slow stream of warm medicated oil is applied all over the body along with ayurvedic massages. Pizhichil is known to be one of the best treatments for rheumatic and neurological ailments.
Dhara
Dhara is performed on patients as an effective nervine tonic and as a remedy for psychosomatic disorders. It is very important that this treatment is conducted by using preparations exactly as per the Ayurvedic prescriptions for getting excellent results. Dhara is performed in our nursing home by experts with many years of experience in this method of treatment alone, 'Dhara'; the name is derived from the process of pouring oil (Thaila Dhara) or medicated butter milk (Thakra Dhara) or medicated butter milk (Ksheera Dhara) continuously on the forehead.
Sirovasthy
It is yet another efficient treatment method in which oil is retained on the head in a special cap tied over the forehead. Past experience has proved that this treatment is an excellent remedy for bells palsy, headache and various neurological disorders connected with brain. Sirovasthy is performed under the expert guidance of the team of doctors, who supervise the procedure throughout.
Kateevasthy
Very effective in the treatment of various type of back pain. In this procedure bulk of oil is kept on the back in a special manner.
Undwarthanam
Very effective treatment for weight reduction and improving skin complexion. In this procedure medicated powder is rubbed all over the body in prathiloma direction (upward direction
