LOCATION:
Atreya Ayurvedic Medical College is located at Dodaballapur, which is about 35 km from Bangalore. The lush green surroundings and the tranquility of the countryside provide the perfect backdrop for the college. The college is a rural campus positioned for convenient access to Bangalore city located in the historic town of Karnataka. Excellent interstate highways, public transportation and train service connect the campus with numerous metropolitan cities of India.

ABOUT THIS COLLEGE:
The Atreya Ayurvedic Medical College is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Helath Science, Bangalore, recommended by CCIM and approved by Ayush (Government of India)has a 10 acre land , 100 bed Ayurvedic hospital, Herbal garden and the building and infrastructure required for the Ayurvedic Medical College.
The Medical College has spacious and well equipped departments with the necessary infrastructure resources like comfortable chairs and desks, OHP teaching aid and computers. The well equipped, ventilated and furnished class rooms are used as the facilitating centre for the students to learn more than the B.A.M.S prescribed syllabus.
The College is dedicated in providing the highest quality education, health care, and research in the field of Ayurveda. It trains its students to become the healers of the future. Ayurvedic practitioners passing out from this institution will be dedicated and professional to understand the person physically, emotionally, and spiritually through Ayurveda.

COURSE OFFERED:
The Atreya Ayurvedic Medical College offers the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S) degree course to 10+2 students. To become an Ayurvedic Doctor, the B.A.M.S Degree is the only qualification in Ayurveda that is recognized by the Central Council of Indian Medicine, Statutory body under Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
ELIGIBILITY:
The students should qualify by 10 & +2 (Science) with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
DURATION:
The duration of B.A.M.S Degree course is 5 ½ years (including one year internship).
FACULTY:
The Atreya Ayurvedic Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre is being run under the able guidance of Dr. Prashanth S. Acharya and his team of experienced Doctors and teachers. He has been practicing successfully for the last 10 years and his reputation in healing his patients has been recognized globally. He uses his vast experience combined with skills to tutor and guide the students to gain the right skills along with the qualification of an Ayurvedic Doctor. He is a role model and an inspiration for the teaching faculty.

Shivarudraiah is the Chairman of the Atreya Charitable Trust. He has been the source of inspiration and leadership to all the organizations coming under the umbrella of the trust. The creative thinker and motivator, who is the driving force behind all the projects of the Atreya Charitable Trust.

The highly motivated faculty teaches the theory and practices of Ayurveda to the students by applying modern scientific approaches. They train the students to mould them into skilled Ayurvedic physicians. The super-specialty Atreya Ayurvedic Hospital provides the right training ground for the students to get first hand knowledge about Ayurvedic treatment and also to do their internship.

We provide good hostel facility along with in house catering services provide students to spend more time and efforts in campus, which encourages the students to participate more in learning more, honing more skills, practicing and group discussion activities.

We provide food is available for students and the staff from the college canteen. Both North and South Indian dishes and delicacies are served to students coming from all parts of the country at affordable rates.

And also computer skills are taught to the students and multimedia tools are used to make the learning sessions more interactive and students are encouraged to participate actively in all the classes. The exhaustive array of books, periodicals, journals and research materials stocked in the library provides the students an opportunity to do their own research and learn more in their own pace.

The students learn extensively from the Dravyaguna department (herbal department) about the Ayurvedic medicinal plants. The teaching of medicinal plants, their classification, properties, cultivation and preservation are all done in the herbal department. The herbal garden is the work area of the Dravyaguna department.

The herbal garden with more than 400 species of herbs, climbers, grasses, ferns, aquatic plants, shrubs, and medicinal trees, provide the students an opportunity to acquire hands on learning knowledge about these Ayurvedic plants and also know the process and methods involved in growing and extracting the medicinal ingredients from these medicinal plants and herbs.

The students with the guidance of their teachers put in enormous amount of time and efforts in the herbal garden to learn about the medicinal plants and then apply the time tested techniques and skills in the Dravyaguna department. Apart from meeting the regular teaching requirements, the herbal garden adequately meets the in-house pharmacy needs of the hospital for treating the patients as well. The herbal garden is the main resource for the pharmacy section to prepare a variety of herbal medicines including capsules, tablets, churnas, asavas and arishtas, oils, spices and cosmetic products.

HOSPITAL:
The hundred-bedded running hospital has a very high inpatient and outpatient rate. The hospital provides major OT, minor OT, labour room, recovery room, post-operative room and OPD of all faculties. Kayachikitsa (internal medicine), Shalakya (ENT & ophthalmology), Panchakarma, Kaumarbhritya (pediatrics), Shalyatantra (Surgery) are some of the clinical treatment departments of the Atreya Ayurvedic Hospital.

Atreya Ayurvedic Hospital is well equipped with the X-Ray facility, pathological laboratory, ECG facility, spirometry and basic physiotherapy units for the rehabilitation purpose. The in-house Pharmacy stores most of the Ayurvedic medicines and accessories. Many types of medicines are also manufactured within the pharmacy.
