LOCATION:

It is located in California, USA.

ABOUT THIS INSTITUTE:

The Ayurveda Institute of America is dedicated to providing students with a high quality and authentic Ayurvedic education and training. We seek to produce successful and competent Ayurvedic practitioners while maintaining the integrity and authenticity of Ayurveda.

The Ayurveda Institute of America was founded in 1996 in Dallas TX with one branch in Houston, TX. In the first class two chiropractors, three yoga teachers, five massage therapists and couple of Ayurveda enthusiasts participated. Initially, the program offered 350 credit hours. With each passing year, the popularity increased and AIA's enrollments increased.

AIA moved its main campus to Foster City CA in 2000. With a California state approval, AIA started the training program in Foster City. To fulfill the requirements of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association, the AIA Diploma program was upgraded to 500 credit hours instead of 350. Two years ago, AIA started the Diploma Program at branches in Los Angeles and in Hawaii.

COURSE OFFERED:

AIA offers a quality education in Ayurveda leading to a “Diploma in Ayurvedic Sciences.”  California state approved program offers a solid foundation in the history and practice of Ayurveda, and clinical experience under the supervision of some of the most respected Ayurvedic scholars and practitioners in the world.

Our schedule allows students to maintain their current jobs while completing their coursework. Students receive a total of 500 hours of training and education. The program consists of Ayurvedic concepts, preparing and administering herbal products, special projects based on a student's personal and professional interests, and culminates with a supervised, three month internship.

Classes include Ayurvedic philosophy, anatomy, physiology, herbology, psychology, preventive medicine, pathology, astrology, subtle therapies, diagnosis methods, and management of imbalances and disease processes.

The internship is a key part of AIA's program. Students integrate their studies with real world experience. Students help treat clinic cases and learn how to perform Ayurvedic health evaluations under the supervision of Ayurvedic doctors. The internship provides the experience and support necessary to practice Ayruveda. Students have found the internship to be an invaluable piece of their educational experience.

ELIGIBILITY:

High School Diploma and college level courses in: English Anatomy & Physiology or A bachelor's degree in any discipline or three years of experience in a health related field (certified or licensed practitioners in a health related field including Massage Therapy, Chiropractic, Nursing, Naturopaths, Physicians, etc.)
