TIP OF THE DAY

After Panchakarma take extra care to rest and avoid physical or mental stress. The ancient texts advise us to avoid extreme weather, too much talking, walking long distances, heavy food or any activity that is not pleasing to the senses. The body needs time to regenerate.

Vision:

The California College of Ayurveda is dedicated to providing the highest quality education, health care, and research in the field of Ayurveda. We train students to become the healers of the future, practitioners dedicated to understanding the whole person physically, emotionally, and spiritually. From this understanding, practitioners will be able to identify areas of disharmony between a client\'s actions, his or her constitutioni, and the environment. Practitioners will then understand how this disharmony relates to the client\'s illness or imbalance, and will develop a program of care to re-establish harmony and support their client on his or her journey toward optimal health.

Ayurveda Training Programs and Courses:

Ayurvedic Massage and Body Therapy Certification Course

This Program provides 45 hours of hands-on training in one and two practitioner Abhyangai (Ayurvedic Massage) along with Shirodhara (warm oil treatment over the forehead) and Svedanai (Ayurvedic herbal steam therapy). Participants will work in groups of three giving and receiving therapies. An Ayurvedic Massage and Body Therapist is a specialist who works with massage and other therapies which are individualized to the nature of the person and nature of any imbalances that are present. Ayurvedic Body Therapies are a significant part of the healing process in Ayurvedic medicine and are becoming popular in clinics and health spas around the world.

Course Fee:
Ayurvedic Massage and Body Therapy Training Course: $600.00
Combined enrollment with Foundations Course: $799.00 (Savings $51.00)

Panchakarma Training - PK Specialist Certification

Once each year the College offers its five-day, 45-hour Pancha Karmai Specialist training. This advanced program is only open to students who have completed the Ayurvedic Massage and Body Therapy training program and who are enrolled in, or a graduate of, the Ayurvedic Health Practitioner or Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist training programs. While students learn all about Pancha Karma and Pancha Karma clinical management in the A.H.P. and C.A.S. programs, this special seminar training program is almost entirely hands-on. Students fine-tune their practices of abhyangai (Ayurvedic massage), shirodarai, svedanai (herbal steam treatment), learn how to perform bastii (enema) and nasya treatments and discuss issues related to the daily practice of Pancha Karma.

Course Fee: $600

Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy Course

This is a 12 day residential training program designed for yoga teachers, yoga practitioners, and those with a background in the healing arts taught directly by Dr. Marc Halpern. Participants who teach yoga will learn how to adapt yoga classes toward the specific needs of each individual. They will be able to provide deeper instruction in the use of asana, pranayama, chanting and meditation for healing based upon ayurvedic principles. For those involved in other healing arts the course provides a personal journey within, allowing each to explore their own ayurvedic constitutioni and create a lifestyle that leads to inner peace and healing. This program is held at a variety of locations throughout the USA and abroad, in partnership with Sivananda Yoga Ashrams. Course graduates will receive a certificate from Dr Marc Halpern of the California College of Ayurveda.

Ayurvedic Herbal Training Apprenticeship

This program is a wonderful opportunity to increase your herbal knowledge and plant intuition through meditation and practice. This is a hands-on program where you will develop an intimate relationship with the plants. Students will become proficient in the making of many herbal preparations and will have the experience of herb cultivation and processing from start to finish. The graduates of this apprenticeship program will be fully prepared and proficient in creating their own herbal pharmacy as a part of their clinical Ayurvedic practice.  These students will have the highest herbal training offered to any CCA graduates.  Upon completion of all requirements students will receive a certificate of completion.

Course Fee: $1,650

Ayurvedic Programs:

Ayurvedic Studies Level I: Ayurvedic Health Educator (A.H.E.) (545 hours)

Students who complete the A.H.E. program (which is Level One of CCA's training program) will receive a certificate of completion. This certificate is a joint certificate of completion from both the California College of Ayurvedai and the American Institute of Vedic Studies. The certificate is signed by Dr. David Frawley and Dr. Marc Halpern. This program is for the student wishing to integrate their training in Ayurveda with an existing health care degree, massage or yoga certification, or to receive the knowledge for personal growth and/or self-healing. Graduates with no previous training may conduct community ayurvedic educational workshops and seminars. This training can be combined with our Ayurvedic Massage and Body Therapy certification, allowing level-one graduates to become licensed Massage Therapists in the state of California and perform Ayurvedic massage and spa therapies.

This Level Two program consists of a disease management curriculum along with additional training in diagnostics and Panchakarma theory. It is a pre-requisite to our Level Three internship programs.
