ABOUT THIS COLLEGE:
This is the foremost Ayurvedic College in Maharashtra where the medium of instruction is English with an intake capacity of 100 students and has one of the best Herbal gardens in India with a unique Greenhouse installed in an area of 10000sq. ft. It also has a 300 bedded hospital with four full fledged operation theatres. Attached to this is a well equipped pharmacy with modernized high-tech machines as per GMP norms.
Dr. D.Y. Patil college of Ayurved And Research Institute was established in the year 2004 with permissions from the Central Council of Indian Medicine (C.C.I.M.) and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare–New Delhi (India). With Ayurved slowly aspiring global recognition, it is important that the education in such a specialized field be imparted to students who wish to pursue it as a career.
At the Dr. D. Y. Patil college of Ayurved, the students are exposed to all the different aspects of this science. Being part of a campus that also houses the Dr. D.Y.Patil Medical and Dental colleges ensures that the students get to interact with a spectrum of individuals from different areas of health sciences. Ayurvedic treatment, which originated in India, is now steadily gaining ground across the globe. The college aspires to produce outstanding doctors who can contribute to this ancient science at large.
Medicinal plants play a major role and constitute the backbone of Ayurved. For the purpose of demonstration and educating the students as well as the General public, the Herbal Garden has been developed over 2 acres of land with distinct Green house which exhibits varieties of plants on aesthetically designed beds maintained by latest fogging system.

ELIGIBILITY:
The students should qualify by 10 & +2 (Science) with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
DURATION:
5 & 1/2 years.

This college has technical support on each step of graduation by modern gadgets like O.H.P.s, computers, laptops, L.C.D. projectors, Internet facility etc. Producing Ayurvedic in audio-visual form which is hardly ever had been done in the field of Ayurved. Using of latest instruments in diagnosis and treatment.

This is one of the best Herbal gardens in India with a unique Green house installed in an area of 10,000sq.ft.The Green house displays number of varieties of plants on aesthetically designed beds.
The mission of the Dr.D.Y.Patil College of Ayurved and Research Institute library is to provide college students with the information they need to achieve their highest academic potential and help them acquire research skills necessary for lifelong learning. To support teaching faculty and administrative staff and to participate in cooperative information exchange within the wider library/educational community.
HOSPITAL:
Associated to this college is a 300 bedded hospital with four operation theatres i.e. O.T. for Ophthalmic, Gynecology and Labor O.T. and Minor O.T. with all modern amenities. Special Panchakarma therapies including Emesis, Purgation, Medicated enema, Bloodletting etc. are conducted on regular basis taking into consideration the nature of the disease and constitution of the person. A holistic approach including Yoga and Naturopathy is followed.
The patients are provided with the medicines prepared in the Pharmacy attached to the hospital. The medicines are prepared in accordance to the classical literature as per GMP norms under strict supervision of highly qualified faculty members. The Pharmacy is equipped with High-Tech modernized Machineries like Pulverize, Pounding Machine, Capsule filling machine etc. To ensure quality control there is also R & D section to test purity and standard of raw material and Final Products.
 
IPD consist of well equipped Operation Theatres, Special rooms, ICU, NICU, Co-operative Para medical & Technical staff. Number of clinical Researches are conducted & in process. Department wise services in Hospital is as follows – Kayachikitsa Department, Panchakarma Department, Shalya Tantra Department, Shalakya Tantra Department, Department of kaumabhritya, Department of Stree-rog & Prasuti Tantra.
Hospital consist of total 12 O.P.D.’s Kaychikitsa 2, Panchakarma, Shalya Tanta, Shalakya Tantra 2, Stree-rog & Prasuti Tantra, Kaumarbhritya, Swasthyarakshan Dentistry, Yoga & Naturopathy, Accupressure & Accupuncture, Physiotherapy, Casualty & Emergency Section: 1. Special evening O.P.D.’s for cosmetics, Obesity, Rasayan & Vajikaran & Manasrog is also exist.
