LOCATION:
The vast and sprawling Ayurved Medical College complex have its own Herbal Garden spread over an extensive area of 3 acres located in picturesque surroundings about 2 km from the heart of Sangamne, Maharashtra.
FOUNDER:
Dr. B. G. Dere the founder & motivator of this institute & his team, have good reputation in the field of Ayurved till today, since last 16 years. Dr. B. G. Dere, after obtaining B. A. M. S from Ahmednagar Ayurvedic College, in the year 1982, started practicing as a doctor in Sangamner in 1982, with a small Nursing Home. As a result of his clinical skill and good doctor patient relationship, within a period of 2 years he started his own hospital in Sangamner.
The situation demanded expansion of his activities thus a Public Charitable Trust was established in 1989, namely Sangam Sevabhavi Trust, which was based on professional expertise with social commitment. Under the trust he started Sanjivan Hospital and Research Center. Soon Sanjivan Hospital became popular brand name as a leading hospital and a referral for all types’ cases for the entire Sangamner and beyond.
ABOUT THIS COLLEGE:
The Sangam Sevabhavi Trust's Ayurved Medical College was established in year 1992 as the 1st Ayurved Medical College in Sangamner. It is recognized by Govt. of Maharashtra, Central Council of Indian Medicine (Govt. of India) and affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences.
Since then, the institution has grown into a premier center of Medical Education in the District. The motto of starting the college was to educate & facilitate the village student also with urban one. It is also to provide good health care to the people of remote area with the help of Ayurveda.
This institute has a noble object of providing medical education, facilities & aid to common & needy people of the world. As per Central Council of Indian Medicine (C.C.I.M.) rules & regulations of the facilities are available in the Institute. The institution of medicine & medical college is having very good reputation of the students.
College has got 120 bedded Sanjivan Hospital in same premises. Hospital has got all the seven department – O.P.D.’s, Separate casualty. It has got well equipped Panchakarma Unit, centrally monitored ICU internationally standard operation theater, Stress Test Unit, C.T.Scan, Pathology unit, physiotherapy Unit.
GOAL OF THIS COLLEGE:
It provides education for poor & painstaking desired people and guide for the Hospital & dispensaries. The college arranges educational, social & agricultural exhibitions & charitable purpose.
COURSE OFFERED:
The course offered by this college is - B. A. M. S. (Bachelor of Ayurved Medicine & Surgery - Recognized by Govt. of Maharashtra, Govt. of India (New Delhi).
ELIGIBILITY:
The candidates can apply for this course after completion of 10+2 Exam and with PCB (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) as compulsory subjects. For open category minimum 50% & for reserve category 40% must be secured in these subjects with English language passed.
DURATION:
The duration for the course is – 4 ½ years and compulsory internship 1 year.
ACCOMMODATION:
Near Sangamner City College has got well equipped & furnished, separate Hostel for boy’s & girls. In this separate Hostel about 150 girls’ students can be accommodated. Hostel is very well protected & secured by security person. The ladies hostel is managed by ladies rector only. It is run with perfectly disciplinary rules.
FEE PARTICULARS:
Fees are as per the decision of Fee Fixation Committee, Maharashtra for every year.
OTHER FACILITIES:
College has got well equipped & furnished Library. This Library has got more than 10,000 Medical Science books. College has also got separate reading room for students & teachers.
College has got 50 students unit of National Service Scheme. College had undertaken different camps for the service of people around viz. Health check-ups services camps, blood donation camp etc.
College has got Indoor & Out door sports facilities where students have participated & succeeded in the same at university levels.
Latest computer machines are made available for students to compete with the world & having the advance computer knowledge. College has got the entire P.C. with internet facilities.
Medicinal Plants Garden Area – 3 Acer No of species – 155 No of Plant – 20,000. As per Central Council of Indian Medicine College are having all the 14 departments with all the basic as well as advanced amenities.
