LOCATION:
The Ayurvedic Institute, recognized as a leading Ayurvedic school and Ayurveda health spa outside of India, was established in 1984 to teach the traditional Ayurvedic medicine of India and to provide these ancient therapies. It is located in the foothills of northeast Albuquerque with a view of the beautiful Sandia Mountain. Our two buildings total 9,500 square feet.

The Ayurvedic Institute was founded in 1984 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, as an educational, non-profit corporation. The Institute is governed by a Board of Directors and corporate officers. At The Ayurvedic Institute, we use the time-honored Vedic approach to education, teaching from an oral tradition based on personal growth through spirituality. We provide an environment in which the student can find the freedom to learn and make choices that promote self healing. GOAL OF THIS INSTITUTE:
The Ayurvedic Institute is a non-profit organization that teaches the principles and practices of Ayurveda, the ancient science of life. We provide authentic education in a supportive environment that encourages the integration of Ayurveda by individuals into their daily living and by health care professionals into their clinical practices. It is the dream of Vasant Lad and the goal of the Ayurvedic Institute to be able to offer a complete program of Ayurvedic study.

Ayurvedic Studies Program, Level 1:
Registration Fee - $100, 1st Quarter tuition - $2,500, 2nd Quarter tuition - $2,500, 3rd Quarter tuition - $2,500, Audit Vasant Lad's Class, one session - $50.
Ayurvedic Studies Program, Level 2:
Registration Fee-$100, 2nd Quarter tuition-$2,750, 3rd Quarter tuition-$2,750, Audit Vasant Lad's Class, one session-$35.
Pune Gurukula Program:
Registration Fee-$100, 6 weeks tuition-$2,150.
Ayurvedic Correspondence Course:
Tuition-$225 and overseas postage is an additional expense.

FACULTY:
Dr.Vasant Lad, M.A.Sc., Ayurvedic Physician and Executive Director, principal instructor and founder of the Ayurvedic Institute brings a wealth of classroom and practical experience to the United States. He served for three years as Medical Director of the Ayurveda Hospital in Pune, India. He was Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Pune University College of Ayurvedic Medicine for 15 years. The teacher shares knowledge and experiences that help the student learn the theory and practices of Ayurveda.
ACCOMMODATION:
The Institute does not have student lodging or cooking facilities, but there are many homes, apartments, motels, hotels and restaurants within a few miles. In Albuquerque, there is plenty of housing within walking and biking distance of the Institute as well as health food and grocery stores, a library, and restaurants.
PRICE RANKING:
In Albuquerque, it is possible to rent a one-bedroom austere, unfurnished apartment for about $795 per month. The average two-bedroom unfurnished apartment begins at $895 per month, and a three-bedroom house is from $1000 to $1,400 per month.
