ABOUT THIS COLLEGE:
T.M.A.E. Society was established in 1969, known for running institutions of high standards in diverse fields. It is running a professional, Technical and Medical institutions all-over Karnataka. The society is committed to the cause of upliftment of the deprived section of the society.
The Society already has the distinction of running some of the institutions like the D.Pharmacy, B.Pharmacy, M. Pharmacy, B.Ed., in Harapanahalli and Lakshmeshwar along with technical college thus striving to serve the cause of education in these areas of the state.
The T.M.A.E.’s, Ayurvedic Medical College is promoted by Shree Tegginamath Arts Education Society, Harapanahalli, a prominent philanthropic organization of Davangere district which is running a chain of educational institutions at various places in the five districts of Karnataka.
COURSE OFFERED:
The College trains students for the B.A.M.S. Degree course. Ayurvedacharya (B.A.M.S.- Bachelor in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) is the only recognized Degree in Ayurveda all over India from June 1977. The Course is envisaged by the Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi.
ELIGIBILITY:
Admission to BAMS Degree Course is open to students who have passed second year of the Pre-University Examination of Karnataka P.U.10+2 Board or any other equivalent Examination recognized by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects. The Candidates should have obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate in the PCB optional of Second year of the PUC Examination.
Schedule caste and Scheduled tribe candidates should have obtained atleast 40% marks in the optional (Only for Karnataka Students). All admissions made by the college to the first year of the BAMS course are provisional subject to the approval by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and the Institution is not responsible for any non approval of admissions. The students from other states should obtain eligibility certificate from RGUHS and produce the same to the college office within the last date for admission fixed by the University.
Candidates seeking admission to the First year of BAMS should have attained the age 17 years on the date of notification pertaining to admissions.
DURATION:
The duration of the course is as follows: The B.A.M.S. Degree Course is a duration of 5 ½ years: 1st Professional course is 18 months, 2nd professional course is 18 months, 3rd professional course is 18 months and 4th Internship is 12 months.
Each Professional Course period consists of 3 terms, each term with duration of six months B.A.M.S. Degree holders are eligible for Registration in the Central or State Ayurvedic Boards. Their Status is at per with any Other Medical graduates in India. They are eligible for appointment in Central or State Government Ayurvedic Medical Services.

The college has a fine team of young, qualified, experienced and dedicated staff members the team of specialists in various subjects visit the institute regularly to deliver special lectures on the Staff members pay individual attention to counsel the students in their overall career.

ACCOMMODATION:
We provide separate hostel facilities for boys and girls are made available and these are an ideal retreat at the end of the hectic day.
OTHER FACILITIES:
Well advanced and fully furnished Library has been designed as per the guidelines of Rajiv Gandhi University and CCIM, New Delhi. Library having two divisions (Boys & Girls) for sixty students sitting capacity with fully furnished Reading Room. Library has more than 500 books and six daily newspapers and thirty Periodicals. The library of the institution is functioning in spacious library hall with books for home studies, references, class room demonstration etc. It also subscribes almost every Medical Journal and books published.
New well equipped dissection theaters have been established to study dead bodies for the practical learning of Anatomy, by the students under the guidance of experienced staff members.
TMAE’s Ayurveda College has designed a well-equipped Physiology & Pathology Laboratory as per the CCIM Guideline. In such a manner that, enough space for demonstration and each student is given separate set of all equipments for handling and conducting experiments. Teaching Aid in the laboratory is well advanced like Slide Projector, OHP etc.
Laboratory got good appreciation from different Scientists/ Experts from all over India. The Institute can rightly claim to have a well equipped Dissection theater, laboratories, Nature Cure, Yoga which can cater fully to the needs of all students.
The college has N.S.S. Unit consisting of boys and girls under the guidance and financial assistance from the Rajiv Gandhi University, Bangalore. The Students participate in all activities and are properly molded to become able doctors and serve the society.
We have an extensive playground providing an opportunity for the students to improve their skills and talents in sports and games. This Institution contains a well equipped seminar hall.
HOSPITAL:
A well equipped hospital with 100 beds capacity is situated in the college campus is functioning under the supervision of Principal/ Chief Medical Officer. It has a well established Laboratory, Surgical theatre, Maternity Room, Kayachikitsa, Shalya, Shalakya, Prasoothi & Streeroga, Kaumarabhritya, Panchakarma sections and X-ray plant to provide all facilities to the patients.
Apart from the general male and female wards, it has special rooms for the patients who need special additional care facilities. An Ambulance is also provided for the use of the patients.
