LOCATION:

Ayurvedic & Unani Tibbia College is located in Karol Bagh, New Delhi. The buildings in this campus are a fusion of style in vogue at that time viz., Neo-Classical, Colonial, and Mughal styles. This building has the added distinction of having been inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi, on 13th February, 1921. It also symbolizes the recognition of Ayurvedic and Unani Medical Sciences by the British Government. The building is still used as a college and hospital with minimum objectionable transformations.

ABOUT THIS COLLEGE:

Abud Najeed Khan established the Ayurvedic & Unani Tibbia College in the year 1889. The institution has a hospital attached to it with one hundred and ten beds. Practical training is also provided to the students studying here. Previously this college and allied units were managed by a Board established under Tibbia College Act-1952. This Act now has been repealed by a new Act known as Delhi Tibbia College (Take Over) Act-1998 and enforced by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi.

COURSE OFFERED:

The courses offered at Ayurvedic & Unani Tibbia College are Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery and Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery.

DURATION:

The under graduate degree offered is of 5 years and 6 months duration. 12 months is meant for the internship program.

ELIGIBILITY:

The candidates should qualify by 10+ 2 pass with Physics, Biology, Chemistry and English. An aggregate of 50% is required in Chemistry, Physics and Biology taken together. Candidates should also pass English from any recognized institution that offers regular classes on English. It is also necessary for the students to have pass marks in all the subjects. Candidates should be 17 years of age as on 31st October of the present year when taking admission.

OTHER FACILITIES:

There are 13 departments and a hospital with 110 beds attached to the College, where practical training is given to the students. This college has an attached pharmacy (Ayurvedic Rasayanshala), where Ayurvedic medicines are manufactured for use in the College Hospital.

Hospital:
The Government Hospital attached to Ayurveda Unani Tibbia Collage has 110 beds with O.P.D. and attached laboratories. Patients are admitted and treated free of cost. The Surgical Department headed by Dr. K. K. Sijoria has been doing highly appreciable work in Anorectal surgery. This hospital has become famous for treatment of piles & fistula-in-ano. The Medical & Gyneie Departments have also been rendering good services to the suffering humanity.
