INTRODUCTION:
Government Ayurvedic College is located in the Jalukabari region of Assam. It is established in the year 1948. It is joined with Guwahati University. With an experienced bunch of veteran ayurvedic practitioners in the teaching faculty, the college offers a Bachelors degree in ayurvedic medicine and surgery. The course involves lessons relating to some of the rare traits of ayurveda shastra. The masters of ayurveda medicine who have gained eminence through years of research are present in the college to guide the students. There is no denying the fact that Government Ayurvedic College is a shining example of the Assam Ayurvedic Colleges.
General Information for the Student:
The admission criteria of the Government Ayurvedic College of Assam require the aspirants to score atleast 50% marks in 10+2 standard with a course combination of chemistry, physics and biology. Once inside the premises of the college, the students come under the apt supervision of the expert professors of ayurveda.
The entire academic calendar of the college lasts for five and half years. After successful completion of the course the students become well-acquainted with the details of ayurveda and can opt for either independent profession or can start practicing in a government-run ayurvedic hospital.
